We are the champions - again!

Last weekend Fal Surf competed in the BUCS Surf Championships and placed first!

Fal Surf, stormed the Newquay waves last weekend, with Joseph Prow winning the Men’s Final.

The surf conditions were pumping on Saturday, giving some really exciting heats to watch for spectators. 252 men entered the competition, with a member of Fal Surf in each quarter final.

Sunday was a more challenging day with high winds and messy conditions. The competitors were whittled down to four surfers for the final, three of whom were Fal Surf members. Joseph defeated reigning champ, and teammate, Matthew Chapman, with Theo Cherques coming fourth. The Men’s Team also went on to become Men’s Team Champions.

Ellen McArthur, Fal Surf President: “Fal Surf club were out in full support through the wind and copious amounts of rain that graced us all weekend. The final was heavily supported and it was a moment to be proud of!”

Hayley Curtis, FXU Sports Manager: “BUCS Surf is always an absolute highlight for FXU and not least because Fal Surf always do us proud! It’s great to see other university teams coming down to Cornwall and seeing what we have to offer. Huge congratulations to the whole Fal Surf team and we’re already looking forward to seeing next year!”

Fal Surf aims to retain the title next year and enter a women's team.
