Supporting students affected by earthquakes in Syria and Türkiye

The Students’ Union have been closely following the developments of the devastating earthquakes in Northern Syria and Southern Türkiye. Our thoughts are with our student members who have been affected by this news and the people at the centre of the disaster.

As a union, we are here to support members of our student community who are affected by the earthquakes. We represent you and want to listen to your thoughts, so please visit our SU spaces or get in touch through social media or email if you would like to share.

For support with your mental health, finding someone to talk to, or support with your overall wellbeing through this distressing time, the wellbeing services are available to help you.

If you are interested in donating money to this cause, we advise you to be cautious at this time. The most effective way to support those in need is to donate to one of the established charities affiliated with the Disasters Emergency Committee. Links to their current appeals are as follows:

· British Red Cross
· International Rescue Committee
· Islamic Relief
· Oxfam
· World Vision

Warm wishes,
