Four presidents stand with striking staff from the University of Exeter and Falmouth University.

Students have called on their student’s union to act. We need your support in ensuring your voices are heard. Students standing in solidarity with lecturers shares a powerful message to the university, potentially influencing how they respond to the UCU’s dispute.

Where has the support for the UCU come from?

An anonymous motion was posted on The SU’s ‘Make a Change’ platform. The statement posted was “The SU to show support in favour of the UCU strikes”. This quickly hit the threshold of 25 upvotes and was taken to student council for discussion and debate. The vote resulted in eight members of council voting for the SU to support strikes, one member voting no, and two abstaining the vote.

We need your support in ensuring your voices are heard. If you have any thoughts or ideas, please get in touch with your Presidents through Instagram or email.
