As part of SU Money Week, your SU Presidents would like to share with you some updates about the Cost of Living crisis. Here is an update from Lauren, President Student Experience 22/23.

National Conversations

Since Talk Money Week in November, I have continued engaging in national conversations about the cost of living crisis within higher education. I attended the NUS Cost of Living Campaigner Weekend in Staffordshire with other officers from across the country - we discussed collaborating to make the biggest change and brainstormed campaigns relating to specific issues such as student support, transport, and housing.

Activity Funding

Within the SU, I have been working with the Activities Committee to allocate funding to sports clubs and societies to support the development of student-led activities. I have also supported the wider staff team in reviewing and updating the Student Project Fund, getting more student-led campaigns, events and activities running with funding from The SU.

If you have any feedback you want to discuss with us, we are more than happy to hear it. Get in touch via our email (presidents@thesu.org.uk) or come into the office and say hello.

You can read our other cost-of-living related articles here on our Cost of Living Crisis Hub.
