This year FXU is hosting the very first Summer Ball - an end-of-year celebration for all! Graduating students will be treated to an exclusive afternoon extravaganza from 3-6pm, before all other students are invited to join the festivities from 6-late!
A multi-arena event, the festival vibe will float across campus, with an array of attractions available in the Heart, Gardens and Stannary.
Throughout the afternoon and evening, you’ll be treated to DJs, live bands, street performers, a silent disco, fairground rides and more.
The party will carry on throughout the evening for everyone, with fireworks at 10pm, and entertainments inside and outside, til midnight and beyond.

Entry to the FXU Summer Ball on the day is by Official Wristband only. You will need to pick your wristband(s) up from either FXU Office at Penryn or Falmouth Campus from Tuesday 29th May onwards.
You will need to bring your student ID with you. If you have purchased a guest ticket as well then your guest will need to come with you at the same time. Your guest does not need to be a student, but they will need to have ID to prove they are over 18. Don’t worry if your guest is only arriving on the day of the Ball – we will be issuing wristbands on the day as well. However, getting your wristband before the day will save time on the day.
We will be placing your wristband on you when we issue it. It needs to be tight enough so that it does not come off. If it comes off by accident, or breaks, or becomes faulty we can exchange it – but only if you bring it back to us. If it comes off and you lose it we cannot replace.
Can I bring a GUEST?
Absolutely! You are welcome to purchase one ticket for a guest and they don't have to be a university student. (Tickets subject to availability).
Will this event have more tickets than previous years?
This event is different from anything we’ve done before! We have lots of stages and entertainment in different places at the same time, so there will be more space and capacity than in previous graduation events.
I want to see the Hoosiers but i'm not a graduating student!
You could ask a friend who is a graduating student to take you as their guest.
Why is there no Graduation party anymore?
The ‘Graduation Ball’ that FXU used to run in the middle of June actually had nothing to do with Graduation ceremonies at all. Both Falmouth and Exeter have their Graduation ceremonies in July, and, since last year, both universities are working to improve the celebrations at Graduation, making that a far bigger focus for graduates to celebrate. FXU is working with both universities to make these Graduation celebrations as good as they can be, at the time that you actually graduate.
Why are graduating students being charged more for this event?
The £5 additional cost for this event is only if you choose to join us for our exclusive afternoon party for all graduating students (plus their guest). By having this special event as the lead up to the main Summer Ball, we have been able to keep the costs down for this exclusive party, whilst also ensuring you have some fantastic entertainments for your £5! However, if you don’t want to join us for the afternoon party, then you are more than welcome to simply pay the lower ticket price and join the Summer Ball from 6pm with all other students.
What's the dress code?
Dress to impress – your style!
Why have the FXU end of year events changed?
The changes to the end of year FXU events will naturally raise a few questions for students who have seen things done differently in the past. Changes to the event have not been made lightly, and the attached information is intended to reflect some of the key elements of the decision and help people understand why the decision has been made.
