We would like to create a book connection between schools in the United Kingdom and in Ghana.
The idea is that British schools provide us with their old and unused textbooks, which then get sent out to schools requiring textbooks in Ghana. In return, the children at the Ghanaian schools would write back to the corresponding British school about life in Ghana and what they are using the textbooks for. This project would help children and schools in Ghana as they would be able to learn more effectively, but also it will give local schools the opportunity to get rid of the books they are not using anymore. The Exeter and Falmouth students could be engaged in various ways. First of all, they would be asked to contact their former schools and introduce them the idea. Second of all, students could participate in fundraising activities, such as bake sale, which will help cover the shipping costs.
Meetings are fortnightly, 5-6 p.m. on Wednesdays in Tremough House Seminar W
