Robin Fisher is training to swim the English Channel between 23–28 August 2019. It is 21.5-mile swim minimum and he is doing the swim to raise money and awareness for Rethink mental illness charity and in memory of his brother John Fisher, who sadly took his own life 4 years ago. Robin said about Rethink: "They are a fantastic charity, doing all they can to help erase the stigma surrounding mental health issues and trying to get mental health the awareness it really needs". One in four people have a mental health related illness at some point in their life and suicide is the biggest killer of young people in the UK. Robin has commented: "This is shocking, especially when it is so preventable, if the care and support is there. I would be very grateful if you could take the time to read my justgiving page, check out what rethink mental illness do, and please donate if you have some spare cash".
