FXU Touch Rugby place 3rd at first ever Tournament!

On 4 November FXU Touch Rugby club, Kernow Kestrels sent a team up to Exeter for their first ever tournament.

Kernow Kestrels had three pool matches to determine their standing. Their first match was against Exeter University Tide which they drew 3-3. The next match was against Exeter University Alumni which they also drew 3-3. The last pool match was against Exeter University Cyclone. Kernow Kestrels really picked up the pace for this match which led to a 3-0 victory for Kernow Kestrels which sent them through to the quarter finals.

In the quarter finals Kernow Kestrels were up against Exeter University Blizzards who proved to be a tough match but Kernow Kestrels beat them 4-3, securing their place in the semi-finals. In the semi-finals Kernow Kestrels were up against an experienced Chippenham team and it was a tough battle from the start which ended with Chippenham winning 5-2, placing Kernow Kestrels in 3rd place. It is an outstanding achievement for a new club at their first tournament.
