Guest Talk & Workshop on sustainable charhoal

Walk and talk around a woodland undergoing coppice restoration. We will be discussing the history of woodland management, why woodland management is important, what it involves in practice, charcoal making and other woodland produce, and the woodland industry and careers in woodland management. We will also be doing workshop involving making drawing charcoal, involves cutting willow to size, putting it into a charcoal tin and charring over the fire for an hour or so. plenty of time sitting around the fire answering questions and enjoying the woods.
Pick up from Penryn campus bus stop, bring £2 on the day.
