The famous FXU Garden Party is now in its ninth year. This year we will be doing it slightly differently, concentrating on hosting the best outdoor festival event to date. This eagerly anticipated party will take place in the beautiful Italian Garden and grounds of Tremough. Our now legendary fireworks display will mark the end of this year’s FXU event. This is an event not to be missed and is the perfect send-off for all students, old and new, into the summer of 2017!
Sale of tickets/ballot process
In the interest of fairness, students will have one month in which to register their interest to purchase tickets. Names will then be randomly generated and students will be given a week in which to buy their two tickets - one for themselves plus one for their student guest. In the event that some tickets are unsold after this week, another group of names will be randomly selected and offered the chance to buy for one week.
Collection of tickets
You will be given your wristband, along with your ticket, which will include a voucher for a drink and a scone with cream (subject to availability).You must bring your guest with you at the point of collection and both of your student ID cards.

Finding a suitable date for the Garden Party each year is becoming increasingly challenging on a shared campus with two Universities whose academic calendars/terms dates do not align. In order to plan the event and to secure bookings it is necessary for us to select a date before the Universities confirm official exam dates and so we have to use previous year's dates as a guide. Saturday May 13th was determined the best date with the information we had at the time of choosing a date, back in July 2016.
This year a Garden Party ticket will allow you access to the outdoor/garden part of the event only. This has been driven by feedback which tells us this is the part of the annual event that people are most looking forward to and see as best value for money. This now means we will be investing all ticket sales into the outdoor element of the event; we have extended the duration of the party by an hour and brought down the cost of the ticket (following student feedback), from £26 to £20* to ensure good value for money (*a 75p online booking fee/card charge applies). It promises to be our best garden party yet, as more money has been invested into the outdoor event, which will finish off with a fireworks display to close the evening.
We are aware that tickets have sold out very quickly in the past leading to a large amount of disappointment. Although we cannot increase the number of tickets for the event, due to factors outside of our control, in the interest of fairness we have introduced a ballot system this year, as this was suggested by the student body last year. FXU students have one month in which to register your interest to purchase two student-only tickets. Names will then be randomly generated and if successful you will be given a week in which to buy your pair of tickets - one for yourself plus one for your student guest (both must be present for collection of the wristband and ticket). In the event that some tickets are unsold after this week, another group of names will be randomly selected and offered the chance to buy for one week. This fairer system will continue until all tickets for the event have been purchased.
Terms and conditions
Garden Party tickets are subject to availability and cost £20 each (+ £0.75 card charge). Over 18s, two tickets per student subject to availability. ROAR.
All students will be able to buy two tickets each (all tickets must be for existing FXU Students) if selected in the ballot. You will need to collect your physical tickets and wristbands from the FXU Office during office hours week commencing Monday 8 May. The person who purchased the ticket must collect the ticket and wristband - bring your student ID card. You must bring your student guest with you (with their ID) when you collect. Please note wristbands will be fixed to the attendee’s wrist on collection.
Refunds will be possible until 8th May (pre-collection of the tickets).
The selling on of tickets is not permitted and any refunds must be processed by FXU.
