Cycling

Cycling is a great way to get out and about in Cornwall, so go have fun and get active! Be sure to make use of our Cycle Scheme – rent a bike for £1 per day or £5 per week. For more info, pop into the FXU office at Penryn or Falmouth, or the Fitness Centre at Penryn. Safety always come first though, so check out our top tips for cycling safety:

• You may be a confident cyclist but it’s often the other road users that cause accidents with cyclists – so WEAR A HELMET!

• Look after your bike – make sure it is safe to use before each journey . Even basic checks could save your life.

• If you go out in the dark, or will be out when it gets dark, ensure that you have working lights on your bike (white for the front, red for the back). You may be fined £30 if you don’t. Make sure you are also wearing bright and reflective clothing.
