Money is a concern for all current and prospective students and the Advice Service is here to support you. The team offers information and advice on a wide range of issues, including student loans, bursaries, grants, tuition fees, welfare benefits, income tax, council tax, financial hardship, debt problems and budgeting. We can also check that you are getting all the funding you are entitled to.

Starting university and living away from home can be quite daunting, especially if it's the first time you're managing your own finances. It's great having all of that money come through at the start of term but making it last can prove difficult - no-one wants to live on beans on toast and end up unable to afford to leave the house. At the start of the academic year work out how much you have to spend each week. Remember you can always make an appointment for help on budgeting, ensuring that you can afford vital equipment for your course, decent food and a social life.  We also have leaflets and links to more information on our website, as well as printed copies available outside the office.  We're here every day during term-time, so book an appointment and we can help you before you run out of money.
