We can now confirm that a new £4million sports development is due to come to the Penryn Campus!
We can now confirm that £4million funding has been made available to develop a sports centre on Penryn Campus!
In the tenth year of the university partnership in Cornwall, the University of Exeter have committed funds for a facility which will cater for all students and staff from the University of Exeter and Falmouth University and will be open to the wider community.
The centre will bring an expansion to the gym, a versatile sports hall and an expanded fitness studio, making sport facilities far more accessible for students in Cornwall.
FXU is very excited for the development of this centre and it will dramatically enhance the sporting activities of our students in Cornwall. We are incredibly grateful for all involved in the decision for a facility, which has for a long time been in high demand. We would like to thank, in particular, the sabbatical officers for the past two years, the Sports Project Board and the University of Exeter Council.
Located at the top of the campus next to the allotments, the centre is due for completion in the summer of 2016 and is an FXU “Top 10” priority success!
