We're now recruiting for the FXU Voices Committee.

Voices is a collaborative project between FXU, Her Campus and The Falmouth Anchor, providing a platform for students whose voices might previously have been lost in the noise.

A multi-channel venture, on and off line, Voices is comprised of impactful events and engaging campaigns. The team published five volumes in 2017/18 and are looking to carry this forward into 2018/19. Now's your chance to join the team. Do you have skills in project management, journalism, photography, design or events management? We want to hear from you.

Roles

Project Manager

The Voices Committee are looking to recruit a new Project Manager for the 2018/19 venture.

The Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the Art Director, Events Coordinator and Editor and liaising with FXU to ensure that the Voices project runs smoothly.

Candidates will be shortlisted through a written application process; the shortlisted candidates will then move on to the interview stage where they’ll be asked to deliver a short 10-15 minute presentation answering the question ‘How would you like the Voices project to develop in 2018/19 and how will you make sure this is achieved?’.

Editor

The Voices Committee are looking to recruit a new Editor for the 2018/19 venture.

The Editor is responsible for overseeing a team of reporters and ensuring that written copy is transcribed and edited to a high standard, keeping to deadlines set by the Project Manager. Each story also needs to be approved by the storyteller.

Candidates will be shortlisted through a written application process; the shortlisted candidates will then move on to the interview stage where they’ll be asked a series of questions about their experience and aims for the role and year ahead.

Journalist (x 4)

The Voices Committee are looking to recruit four new Journalists for the 2018/19 venture.

The Journalists are responsible for recording, transcribing and editing stories to constitute the written content for each volume. 

Candidates will be shortlisted through a written application process; the shortlisted candidates will then move on to the interview stage where they’ll be asked a series of questions about their experience and aims for the role and year ahead.

Art Director

The Voices Committee are looking to recruit a new Art Director for the 2018/19 venture.

The Art Director is in charge of the artist vision for Voices 2018/19 and will work with a team of two photographers and a graphic designer to produce their artistic vision.

The Art Director works alongside the Editor and Events Coordinator and is managed by the Voices Project Manager.

Candidates will be shortlisted through a written application process; the shortlisted candidates will then move on to the interview stage where they’ll be asked to present a portfolio of work as well as a short 5-10 minute presentation answering the question ‘What would you like the Voices project to look like in 2018/19?’.

Photographers (x 2)

The Voices Committee are looking for two experienced photographers (one studio-based photographer and one location-based photographer) to join the 2018/19 team.

Candidates will be shortlisted through a written application process; the shortlisted candidates will then move on to the interview stage where they’ll be asked to present a portfolio of work.

Two candidates will then be invited to join the Voices Committee 2018/19.

Graphic Designer

The Voices Committee are looking for a new graphic designer to join the 2018/19 team.

Candidates will be shortlisted through a written application process; the shortlisted candidates will then move on to the interview stage where they’ll be asked to present a portfolio of work.

One candidate will then be invited to join the Voices Committee 2018/19.

Events Coordinator

The Events Coordinator will be in charge of organising five unique launch events for the five new editions of Voices.

The Events Coordinator works alongside the Editor and Art Director and is managed by the Voices Project Manager.

The Voices Committee are looking to recruit an events coordinator to join the 2018/19 team.

Candidates will be shortlisted through a written application process; the shortlisted candidates will then move on to the interview stage.

One candidate will then be invited to join the Voices Committee 2018/19.
