IMPORTANT UPDATE: NEW BUS SERVICE

Please note that First Fal River’s new bus service comes into effect Monday 8 September.

Key changes include:

•         A new circular route between the Falmouth and Penryn Campuses
•         An integrated network of U1, U2 and U3 services (incorporating the 41 and 88 routes)
•         A new timetable
•         A new £1 fare per single journey on the circular route within the hours of operation (as opposed to the full commercial rate of £3).  In response to your feedback, First Fal River have agreed that this new £1 fare will now be available to students and staff between 5.30am and midnight, Monday to Friday, and 8am to 9.30pm at weekends during the undergraduate academic year
•         A five-year price freeze so no annual increases
•         University-branded U1 and U2 buses
•         Free Wi-Fi for U1 and U2 users
•         A substantially discounted annual Fal Mussel Card Uni for students and staff, that provides 364-day-a-year access to unlimited travel on all First Bus buses in Cornwall, Fal River Links ferries and the Maritime Line Railway Line which runs between Falmouth and Truro, and promotional offers from local attractions, shops and food and drink outlets
•         Students and staff wishing to make a one-off payment of £440.00 for their Fal Mussel Card uni are able to pay online at www.falriver.co.uk/uni
•         Students can also pay for their card in three installments (Term 1 - £200, Term 2 - £150; Term 3 - £100) for a total cost of £450.00.  Please visit www.falriver.co.uk/unifor more information
•         Staff wishing to pay for their card via monthly salary deductions (12 monthly payments of £36.67) can apply through our online travel portal at https://carparking.fxplus.ac.uk/SignIn.aspx.

If you purchased books of discounted bus tickets during the last academic year and have any tickets left, First Bus will redeem these up until Tuesday 30 September 2014.

Please note that from Monday 8 September until Friday 10 October 2014, between the hours of 10am and 4pm, First Fal River will be based in The Compass at the Penryn Campus, should you wish to talk to them about these new arrangements in person.

In addition, First Fal River will be visiting the Falmouth Campus on an ad hoc basis throughout September, as well as holding an information event at 11am on Friday 12 September in the Rosehill Boardroom.
