Following the Mature Student Meet ‘n’ Greet and Mature ‘Return to Learning’ events in Freshers, a Mature Student Forum was held to help determine what mature students would like from FXU. Much of the feedback covered activities a society could provide (eg a place to meet other mature students and mature student events). We held a meeting as a result to discuss the benefits and process of society affiliation and have since received a proposal. This will be a valuable addition to the mature student experience and also create easier access for FXU to get feedback. Keep an eye on the website for more info on the society coming soon. In the meantime, if you’re a mature with ideas for events and various other ways to get involved, please email presidentexperience@fxu.org.uk or pop into the office.
