About the Challenge

For the month of February, FXU Vegan and Vegetarian Society will be taking part in The Great Vegan University Challenge. This is a nationwide event by Animal Aid, which encourages students to try veganism out for the month of February – students sign up for free on their website and are provided with advice, recipes, regular updates by email, and a question-and-answer service.

We will be holding a few events during this month – on the first and second we’ll be holding a stall on each campus to get people signed up, and giving out free vegan tasters. We’ll be in the Exchange on the 1st Feb, 12-3pm and on Falmouth Campus by the shop 2nd Feb, 12-3pm. On the 17th we have a film screening of Speciesism, and on the 22nd a talk from fantastic author and campaigner Mark Gold, highlighting the reasons to be vegan. We’ll finish the month off with a big shared potluck meal! (details tbc). All free, all with food tasters!

17th February: Free Screening of Speciesism

We'll be showing Speciesism: The Movie. This film non-graphic and even funny at points - it highlights the moral dilemma of loving animals but also eating them, in an accessible way.

22nd February: Mark Gold: 10 Good Reasons to be Vegan
7pm, the Exchange Lecture Theatre

Fantastic author and campaigner Mark Gold will give a talk highlighting the many positive reasons to be vegan. Mark is well-informed and thought-provoking.
We'll have vegan tasters afterwards.  Free tickets here.

Times TBA - check our Facebook page for details

A shared meal, bring along a dish if you can but if not come and enjoy anyway!
