Student wellbeing covers a whole range of issues but if a student has any problem, however large or small, FXU will endeavour to offer advice and support.

We offer a completely independent and confidential service and try to make ourselves as approachable as possible.

Accommodation and Housing

Trouble finding accommodation? Need advice on contracts? Difficult landlords? Awkward housemates? Bad conditions? Landlord not fixing things?

FXU also works closely with organisations like Shelter who can offer extra support especially in legal matters.

Bullying

Many people think that bullying is something thats only really affects children. But bullying can be a part of your life at any age,if you feel that you are suffering from bullying or harassment FXU is able to help or just to provide a friendly face for a quick chat, or to support you on further action!

Discrimination

Discrimination is illegal, if you feel for any reason that you are bing discriminated against please come and talk to FXU, because we need to know about it to stamp it out!

Health and Wellbeing

Need a doctor? Health problems interfering with work? Need time off college? Health can play a large part in your time at university whether it be sexual health, mental health, physical health or emotional health. 

Money Matters

Our fully trained Advisers will cover all areas but we can often help with other smaller matters such as help with student loans, difficult banks, budgeting, any questions about forms and applications.

Pastoral Care 

With everything going on at uni you may just need an impartial but friendly face to have a chat with so pop in to the office and say hi, the door is always open!

Responsible Drinking 

We're not going to tell you NOT to drink  but only to be careful about how much you're drinking and what you're drinking!

Sexual Heath 

You will have heard it time and time again but unprotected sex can lead to a multitude of problems including a long list of unfortunate and sometimes quite serious physical and emotional consequences, so make sure you are practising safe sex. Visit FXU for any advice

We want to help and support building better relationships in and with the local community, so if you have any ideas or want to get involved, com and see us.

Students at work 

Do you have problems with a contract? or wages ? or are you working in bad conditions? we can help so please come and visit us with any problems or even any positive comments on employers that we can pass on as recommendations to other students!

Student parents 

Being a student can be hard at the best of times let alone when you have someone else depending on you. But we want to help, we want to make the experience the best it can be and as easy as possible, whether it is help with finances or accommodation or anything else please come and ask for help...
