FXU Campaigns

All of these campaigns have been initiated by students who have sought change and asked us to help facilitate it.

Graduation – Currently running a campaign to move Falmouth Graduation earlier in the year (from September to July).

The graduation dates were originally moved due to the time it took to work through the appeals process and also general logistics of princess pavilions and the summer tourist trade taking up B&B’s and suchlike for people to stay in. Students initiated this campaign as a result of the financial implications that would be caused. The majority of student housing contracts would be finished by this time and it also meant that international students would have to pay to return to Cornwall for the ceremony or miss out on graduating with their course mates. The support for this campaign is currently under assesment. If you have any comments you would like to make please contact rich.pearson@falmouth.ac.uk.

Reprographics – Ongoing campaign to Falmouth Senior Management regarding a proposal to have a Woodlane Reprographics Department.

Repo at Woodlane would potentially affect thousands of students both Exeter and Falmouth as it would save them having to go to Tremough to print stuff, and would also promote Woodlane campus itself to all students. Currently waiting on TCS to get back to us with a proposal about this.

Studio Opening Times – Student surveys going out to students to ask whether or not they feel their studios are open for long enough.

Studio opening times started off as a Fine Art thing but a number of other students have got back to us saying they’d like to see their studio’s open for later.
