Emotional health and wellbeing includes feeling happy, getting involved in university life and taking time for yourself. For some of you this will be the first time you will have lived away from home. It is quite normal to fell homesick. Homesickness can give you physical symptoms as well as mental problems. You are not alone - lots of students suffer, but don’t forget, there are several support services within the university who can help you with this or any other emotional problem you encounter. The Student’s Union has lots of activities for you to get involved in, check out the Sports and Societies and Community Action web pages.
Late nights, drinking and too much fast food play havoc with your health. You will not be able to concentrate properly and may get ill easier. Make sure you are eating healthily and getting enough rest.
Below are some links that may be of help. If you can’t find what you are looking for come and see an FXU Adviser and if we can’t help we will know someone who can! Make an appointment
