If you have any other ideas for charities or ways of fundraising then give us a shout and we'll see what we can do - contact team@fxu.org.uk.
FXU launched a campaign to make students more aware of their environment and how to act more sustainably. It was also a great oppotunity for you to voice your concerns about your university and how to make it more environmentally friendly. Each day of the week was themed, from Waste Reduction day and Energy Inititive day to Buy Local day ending on Friday with a Cake sale to raise money for local environmental organisations. From that final day £50.73p was raised. Thanks to everyone who came during the day and supported the week.
As part of Personal Safety Week FXU held a homemade cake sale, raising money for the national Personal Safety Trust, The Suzy Lamplugh Trust. All of the FXU team made either cakes, muffins, flapjacks or crispy cakes for this bake sale. Thanks to everyone who contributed to eating the lovely cakes and donating money, we managed to raise £125.
FXU lauched their own Fair Trade Fortnight initiative in which activities and events took place to raise the profile of Fair Trade around the campuses. Throughout the campaign various fundraising schemes were carried out and we are pleased to announce that £237.33 was raised and the money has been split between Oxfam and Traidcraft to support their Fair Trade campaigns.
Love messages could be written at either FXU reception offices to someone, about someone or something!! They were put up on display at each Campus. Donations for this small gesture were greatly appreciated! On the day, if you donated you would recieve a heart sticker!! Altogether we collected £18.64p.
